eren jaeger is the kind of guy everyone knows. loud at parties, reckless in a way that turns into legend by monday, and absolutely hopeless when it comes to saying what he feels. when he finally starts confessing his feelings to you in german, trusting that the words are safer if you cannot understand them, you turn to jean kirstein to translate. jean, steady and sharp and impossible not to lean on, tells you eren is saying cruel things instead. hurt, you begin pulling away from eren and drawing closer to jean, who offers the kind of honesty and reassurance eren never seems able to give. but as eren's actions keep contradicting the version of him you've been told, the space between the three of you tightens into something messier: a slow-burn tangle of jealousy, mistranslation, and two very different kinds of wanting, with you to decide who—if anyone—truly gets your heart.
