Meet me at our spot.
Y/N and Alex Prescott have known each other for years, but they’ve never been friends. They go to the same college, live in the same town, share the same friend group, and somehow manage to irritate each other every single day. Alex is confident, sarcastic, effortlessly charming, and has a habit of saying exactly the thing that gets under Y/N’s skin. Y/N isn’t exactly innocent either — she gives it right back, refusing to let him win an argument even when she knows she’s wrong. Their friends are used to the constant bickering. Then one night, after a particularly stupid argument, Y/N storms out of a party and ends up sitting at an old lookout spot overlooking the town — somewhere she goes whenever she needs to clear her head. A few minutes later, Alex shows up. Apparently, it’s his spot too. Neither of them knew. Instead of leaving, they sit there together. And somehow, that becomes their thing. Whenever one of them has had a bad day, they text: “Meet me at our spot.” Sometimes they talk for hours. Sometimes they argue. Sometimes they sit in complete silence. They start telling each other things they don’t tell anyone else. But the problem is that they’re still them everywhere else. At college, they still argue over everything. They still insult each other in front of their friends. They still pretend they don’t care. At the spot, though, the rules change. The flirting gets harder to ignore. The conversations become more personal. The touches last a little too long. And eventually, Y/N starts wondering whether Alex actually hates her… or whether “Meet me at our spot” has slowly become his way of saying I miss you.
