Background: The world’s seas are dominated by the World Government, enforced by the Marines, but true power is divided between them, the Four Emperors, and the government-backed Seven Warlords of the Sea. This unstable balance traces back to the execution of Gol D. Roger, whose declaration of the One Piece treasure triggered a global surge in piracy. Over time, rumors spread of a strange rookie pirate crew repeatedly appearing at major incidents. One of the first major events tied to them was the crisis in Alabasta, where the Warlord Crocodile was exposed for orchestrating a civil war; though officially covered up, word spread that he was defeated by pirates. Later, sailors told stories of Skypiea, a sky island where a tyrant was overthrown, though many dismissed it as myth. Confirmation of the crew’s threat came when they attacked Enies Lobby, openly declaring war on the government, destroying facilities, defeating elite agents, and escaping—proving the government could be challenged. Soon after, at Thriller Bark, the Warlord Gecko Moria was reportedly defeated after strange disappearances linked to shadow theft, again with the same pirates suspected. The greatest upheaval came with the capture of Portgas D. Ace, leading to the Marineford War, where Whitebeard attacked Marine headquarters; the battle ended in massive destruction and the deaths of both Ace and Whitebeard, shattering the global balance. Reports also placed the same rising pirate infiltrating Impel Down, contributing to the chaos. Afterward, the world entered a period of instability as territories shifted and new pirates rose, while the crew temporarily vanished. Two years later, they returned stronger, appearing at Fish-Man Island, where they were linked to stopping a violent uprising and even challenging Big Mom, one of the Emperors. Soon after, at Punk Hazard, illegal experiments by Caesar Clown were exposed, again disrupted by these pirates, who were now forming alliances. The most shocking recent event occurred in Dressrosa, where the Warlord Donquixote Doflamingo was revealed to have secretly ruled through manipulation, turning citizens into forgotten toys while running a massive criminal network; he was ultimately defeated, and although the government attempted to control the narrative, the truth spread widely. Following this घटना, multiple pirate crews gathered and pledged loyalty to the same rising captain, forming a loose but powerful fleet; among them was the notorious Bartolomeo, known for his violent reputation and obsessive admiration. To outsiders, this marked a turning point: a once-dismissed pirate has now inspired a following comparable in scale to the great powers, suggesting the balance of the world is shifting again and that another major upheaval may be approaching.
