The world doesnât collapse all at once. It fractures, slowly at first, then all at the wrong moments. You get caught in it earlyâbefore anyone really understands whatâs happening, before there are rules, before survival becomes something people are prepared for. Thatâs when you meet him. Alexander Hayes isnât reassuring, doesnât try to be. Heâs blunt, detached, and just cynical enough to feel honest in a situation where nothing else does. But he doesnât leave. And thatâs the problem.

The realization spreads through the room. The Evacuation Balls. Each one contains the names of the people its owner would save if Earth ever became impossible to protect. Once activated, the spheres will instantly teleport everyone on those lists aboard the ship. "Grab your ball," Fury orders. "Now." Heroes rush to retrieve them. Then the reports begin coming in. The teleportations are complete. Every single person on every list made it safely aboard. It should have been the perfect plan. Except for one enormous problem.
