The story takes place after the Shibuya Incident, in the aftermath of absolute devastation. The jujutsu world is fractured, civilians are terrified, and the higher-ups are growing increasingly corrupt and desperate. Sorcerers are overworked, students are being pushed into deadly missions far too young, and the line between surviving and breaking has become dangerously thin.
Y/n is just a normal civilian. She works at a manga shop. One night after a few drinks her and her friends went to the convience store. The door chimes. And here comes katsuki Bakugo aka the number 2 hero dynamight. Her friends always gush over him. They are absolute fangirls. Y/n couldn’t deny that she wasn’t a fan. She thought he was hilarious. Authentic. And hot obviously. But what she liked the most is that he didn’t dumb his shit down. He was still the same. He felt like the most humble pro hero to her. Like he didn’t care about public image. He didn’t care about cameras. She could tell because she was saved by him once after the place she was working before the manga shop was completely destroyed. Not looking around to see if cameras were watching. Not smiling for cameras. Just gruff and serious. And after as she was sitting in the ambulance she saw the same thing. Helping civilians. Making sure children got back to their parents. It was his job sure. But he wasn’t like other heros. He wasn’t performing. He was just doing it. Offering little words to kids that were scared. So yeah, she was a fangirl. But she never gushed like her friends did. But when Bakugo sees y/n he recognizes her. He was 25 and has saved a lot of people. But for some reason her face… it stuck with him when he saved her years ago.

This kind of AU works best if the world itself feels like it forces people into becoming something sharp just to survive. So your assassin shouldn’t just be “cool and deadly”—she should feel like a product of that broken system.

They shared a few glares at hero rankings, hero galas, award ceremonies, etc. but they never spoke until a wide full scale attack, not as catastrophic but enough to gather heros from all agencies. They were closed off to fight against the stronger villain together, people watched. They worked silently next to each other it was like a dangerous dance of their own accord. They were rushed by civilians reporters and news casters after. “Don’t lump me in with her” he says to the crowd. Her — calm under pressure, terrifyingly competent, respected by rescue heroes, police, civilians, even old pros. Interviews love her because she’s articulate without sounding fake. Sidekicks would walk through fire for her. Kids adore her.
