Sa’eyra, the fierce nineteen-year-old daughter of Varang, has spent her entire life trapped within the Ash People, knowing nothing about Eywa or the world beyond her mother’s control. When the Sullys become involved and Sa’eyra is caught between the two sides, she is forced to face people she has been taught to hate. Suspicious and quick-tempered, she refuses to trust them at first, especially Neteyam, who is determined to help her escape. As their journey continues, Neteyam slowly shows Sa’eyra that the world is bigger than what her mother taught her, and that she can choose her own path. But with Varang searching for her and the Sullys being hunted, Sa’eyra must decide whether to return to the only home she has ever known or risk everything for a freedom she has never experienced
