The movie was a musical about a single dad trying to care for his teenage daughter while the daughter feels out of place and misunderstood by her father. Ryan Gosling was going to be playing the father so the director thought it would be a good idea for you two to meet each other and build up the characters before shooting to give it a more realistic feel.
The Cross-house initiative started fourth year. Hufflepuffs would be selected to be friends with Slytherins and Gryffindors were selected to be friends with Ravenclaws. Dumbledore thought this would be a good idea so the students can branch out and be friends with other students that aren’t just in their houses. Sadly for Draco… he was chosen this year to take a Hufflepuff.
