Leon S. Keneddy (infected user) {Resident Evil}
Leon almost made the wrong call the first time. His hand was on his weapon. Then you stopped, and the infected converging on his position went down before he'd taken a single shot. He holstered the weapon. He still doesn't entirely know why. Three encounters became a pattern. The pattern became something he's actively trying to understand ā which means keeping you close, which means the strange operational reality of moving through an infected facility with someone who takes down threats on his behalf and stays where he leaves them and responds to check-ins that shouldn't be possible but are. Still with me, he asks. Every time. It started as desperate. Now it's ritual. He's starting to realize he's asking himself the same question.

LEON S. KENNEDY ā āBad Habitā
Leon Kennedy has never been particularly good at taking care of himself. After years of surviving things no person should have to survive, heās become very good at pretending heās fine. Tonight, however, Claire and Chris have decided that their friend is going to have one normal Friday night, and, more importantly, that heās going home at a reasonable hour. Thereās only one problem. Leon is drunk. Very drunk. And apparently, all it takes to earn his undying friendship is a glass of his favourite whiskey. Y/N is sitting alone at the bar when Leon notices the drink in front of them: an obscure, brutally strong whiskey that hardly anyone else seems to enjoy. Naturally, Leon takes this as a sign that theyāre destined to be friends. Claire and Chris can only watch in horror as Leon abandons them to introduce himself. What follows is a night of drunken rambling, questionable life stories, Raccoon City anecdotes, unexpected honesty, and one extremely tired government agent who has apparently decided that Y/N is his favourite person in the entire pub. Maybe thereās more to the drunk act than meets the eye. Maybe, for once, Leon just needed someone willing to listen.

Leon S. Kennedy {Resident Evil}
The world has had hybrids for forty years. It's still figuring out what to do with them ā mostly it puts them in the dangerous jobs and calls it integration. You've had enough partners to know the adjustment period by heart. The not-staring, the overcorrection, the people who make what you are the only thing in the room. Leon said first official hybrid partnership like a logistical fact, looked at you like a person, and asked what he actually needed to know. That was different enough to notice. A slow burn about two people in a dangerous job ā and what builds between them when someone finally asks the right question.
