Y/N has shared her body with a god for as long as she can remember. A being older than chakra itself lives behind her eyes, offering unsolicited commentary, impossible power, and occasional threats against humanity. Joining the Akatsuki should have been the most dangerous decision of her life. Instead, it leads her to an Uchiha who sees past the monster everyone fears… and to the terrifying realization that even gods can become protective. The world fears tailed beasts. It should be afraid of what lives inside Y/N instead.
You’re painfully average. The Uchiha Clan disagrees. No one knows when they decided you belonged to them.. not even you.. but somehow you’ve become the one person every Uchiha instinctively protects. The rest of Konoha is… very confused.
⊱ The Fifth Hokage assigns you to the one mission no Leaf shinobi would ever volunteer for: partnering with Itachi Uchiha. Forced to work beside the infamous Akatsuki member to protect a man both sides need alive, every step is filled with distrust, clashing ideals, and deadly enemies. But the longer the mission lasts, the harder it becomes to reconcile the monster the world fears with the man walking beside you.
Sasuke Uchiha died. Y/N mourned him, abandoned Konoha, and joined the Akatsuki. Three years later, she discovers the truth: Sasuke was never dead. Unfortunately, neither are the feelings she buried with him.
After everything that had happened, Itachi had finally returned, and for the first time in years, the world around him had begun to settle. The Akatsuki had disbanded, the village was no longer hunting him, and he was finally able to live without constantly looking over his shoulder. Yet there was one thing that continued to bother him. Before everything had happened, before he had disappeared from Konoha and joined the Akatsuki, Itachi had been engaged to a woman named Kazuha. She had been someone he deeply cared about and had planned to marry once his responsibilities were over. But after his disappearance, she had seemingly vanished as well. No one had told him what happened to her, and he couldn’t understand why she was nowhere to be found when he returned.
Four years later, Destiny has become the center of the Uchiha family. She follows her brothers constantly. Whenever Itachi returns from an ANBU mission, Destiny waits near the entrance of the compound. The moment she sees him, she runs toward him with both arms raised. “Itachi!” He removes his ANBU mask and catches her. “You should be asleep.” “I waited.” “It’s after midnight.” “I wasn’t tired.” She yawns against his shoulder. Itachi carries her inside. “You’re falling asleep.” “No, I’m not.” “You closed your eyes.” “I’m resting them.” Sasuke spoils her just as much. One afternoon, Destiny climbs onto his bed while he is reading. “Sasuke?” “No.” “But I didn’t ask anything.” “You’re holding my sword.” She slowly lowers the sheathed weapon. “I was bringing it to you.” “It was beside me.” “It got lost.” Sasuke takes the sword from her before pulling her into his lap. “You’re not allowed to touch weapons.” “When can I train?” “When you’re older.” “I’m four.” “That isn’t older.” “It’s older than three.” Sasuke has no response to that. Naruto and the others visit the Uchiha home frequently. Naruto allows Destiny to climb onto his back. Sakura checks her small injuries whenever she plays too roughly. Hinata teaches her to make flower crowns, and Kakashi brings her picture books. Shikamaru claims Destiny is troublesome but lets her nap beside him. Choji shares his snacks, Kiba lets her pet Akamaru, and Ino brushes her hair. Gaara, Temari and Kankuro also adore her. Destiny likes holding Gaara’s hand because his sand catches her whenever she trips. “You don’t have to watch every step she takes,” Temari tells him. Gaara’s sand lifts Destiny over a puddle. “She could have fallen.” “It was an inch deep.” Destiny looks up at Gaara. “I could’ve drowned.” Gaara nods seriously. “Exactly.” Temari stares at them. “You’re both impossible.”
Itachi checked himself in the mirror for the fifth time, smoothing his collar and fixing his perfectly calm-but-definitely-nervous face. Tonight was the night. A real dinner date with Julie — finally, after weeks of shared glances and quiet yearning. He even picked the nicest place in town.
