Loki came to Midgard for a relic. Instead, he got magically tethered to an ordinary museum employee. When the God of Mischief teleports into your workplace and tries to steal an ancient Asgardian artifact, you do the reasonable thing: tell him absolutely not. One struggle over the relic later, ancient magic binds you together. Now Loki—prince, god, occasional world-ending problem—is stuck within a few yards of a human whose biggest concerns were previously work, bills, groceries, and getting home on time. The tether will only release once neither of you needs magic to make you stay. At first, Loki can’t imagine anything worse than being trapped in your painfully mundane life. Eventually, leaving might be worse.
