The laundromat is a little rundown, the dryers sound like they’re fighting for their lives, and the vending machine has never once been trustworthy. But Thursday nights? Those are different. Somewhere between late-night laundry and conversations that run longer than either of you intended, Carlos Oliveira and Y/N have developed a small, unofficial tradition. They bring their clothes, occasionally bring dinner, and sit around talking about whatever the week has thrown at them. Shitty dates. Bad days. Small victories. Things that are difficult to say anywhere else. Sometimes they talk until the machines stop. Sometimes they just sit together in comfortable silence. Carlos has started looking forward to Thursdays more than he could’ve ever imagined. He’d probably deny that if you asked him, though.
