Thanks to Hiccup Horrendous Haddock III, the world had changed. Dragons and humans were no longer enemies. On Berk, they lived side by side — learning, adapting, building something entirely new together. It wasn’t perfect, and it certainly wasn’t easy, but it was real. And it was working. At least… on Berk. Because beyond the island, not everyone had accepted this new reality. Dragon hunters were still out there. Still capturing. Still killing. And Hiccup? He never stopped fighting them. ⸻ On one particular mission, something felt off from the very beginning. The camp he had been tracking for days had already been raided. Cages — broken. Dragons — gone. But not by the hunters. By someone else. Someone faster. More efficient. And far more precise. At first, he thought it was just luck. Until it happened again. And again. Every time he got close, someone had already been there. ⸻ Eventually… he saw you. A rider. Unknown.
At first, you were nothing more than a rumor. A shadow. Stories whispered by hunters about a “forest witch” protecting dragons deep within the wild islands. A warrior riding alongside dragons instead of controlling them. Someone dangerous enough that even hunters avoided your territory completely. ⸻ Then Hiccup finally met you. And immediately realized one thing: You hated him. ⸻ You were half pagan, half Viking, raised far from Berk in hidden lands where humans and dragons had lived peacefully long before Hiccup and Toothless ever met. To you, dragons weren’t companions. They weren’t pets. They weren’t mounts. They were equals. Sacred creatures deserving freedom above everything else. ⸻ So when Hiccup approached you wanting an alliance— You saw right through him. Or at least, you thought you did. ⸻ Because in your eyes, he was no different from every other Viking. Another human pretending to “care” about dragons while still using them for travel, war, labor, and convenience. Just another oppressor wrapped in prettier words
A strange new presence has been spotted in the skies above Berk—something that moves like a Night Fury but doesn’t quite match any known record. During storms and moonless nights, villagers report brief flashes of a black dragon cutting through lightning, vanishing as quickly as it appears. Some believe it could be a young or unknown Night Fury variant, possessing unusual traits such as blue glowing eyes, faint bioluminescent patterns along its back fins, and a rare ability to disappear into lightning-filled clouds. Even more unsettling, a second silhouette is sometimes seen riding with it—though visibility is too poor to confirm who or what it is. As rumors spread, the people of Berk are left questioning whether this is a myth, a hidden survival of a rare species, or something entirely new emerging from the storm.
Hidden within the Dragon Sanctuary, Valka’s secret child has spent their entire life surrounded by dragons, raised to protect them and see them as equals. When Drago Bludvist’s hunters begin invading their home, they secretly wage war against the trappers. Their relentless attacks soon draw the attention of Eret, Son of Eret, a hunter caught between his loyalty to Drago and his growing doubts. As their rivalry deepens and the threat of war looms over both dragons and humans, unlikely alliances are formed, long-hidden family secrets come to light, and the fate of the Dragon Sanctuary hangs in the balance.
Welcome to the Archipelago The Hidden World remains undiscovered by most humans, dragons roam freely across the archipelago, and Berk has become one of the few places where Vikings and dragons coexist peacefully.
(Takes place sometime after the third movie) After reports of dragons long believed extinct begin appearing near Berk, Hiccup and the Dragon Riders follow the sightings to a hidden island concealed by storms and mist. There they discover a young woman from the lost Aetherwing Tribe, the last guardian of a sanctuary where extinct dragons have been secretly protected for generations. (Having it where the dragons ended up staying)
