Naruto Shippuden AU: The Eye They Feared

Years later, Destiny becomes the fourth member of Team Seven alongside Sasuke, Naruto and Sakura. Kakashi quickly discovers that the twins fight best together. Sasuke attacks aggressively while Destiny studies their opponent and predicts every possible response. They rarely need to speak during combat. Naruto finds this incredibly annoying. During one training exercise, Sasuke and Destiny simultaneously throw kunai that pin both sleeves of Naruto’s jacket to a tree. Naruto struggles helplessly. “That was cheating!” Sasuke turns away. “You lost.” “There were two of you!” Destiny approaches and removes one of the kunai. “There were six of you.” “Those were shadow clones!” “They still counted.” Sakura laughs as Naruto falls from the tree. Kakashi looks up from his book. “Your teamwork has improved.” Sasuke smirks. Destiny quietly returns the kunai to her pouch. From the road beyond the training ground, several voices begin muttering. “It’s the girl.” “Keep your eyes down.” “Why does Kakashi allow her to train so close to the village?” Destiny’s shoulders tense. Sasuke hears them too. His smile disappears. Kakashi closes his book. “Ignore them,” Destiny whispers. Sasuke looks toward the trees. “They shouldn’t be here.” “Sasuke.” “They came to watch you.” “They came to watch all of us.” Naruto walks to Destiny’s side. “Want me to scare them away?” “No.” “I can make a thousand shadow clones.” “That would make everything worse.” “It would make me feel better.” Destiny almost smiles. A frightened scream suddenly comes from beyond the trees. Then someone shouts, “Her eyes! Don’t let her look at you!” Destiny goes pale. A surge of chakra rushes through the forest. Her Sharingan activates against her will. Three tomoe spin around her pupils. “Destiny?” Sakura calls. Destiny runs toward the voices. Sasuke immediately follows. Kakashi appears in front of him. “Wait.” “That was her chakra.” “I know.” “Then move.”
