Buddy the elf

Set during the events of Elf, the story follows Jovie, a department store worker who has long since lost her belief in Christmas, and Buddy the Elf, a human raised at the North Pole whose boundless optimism and sincerity clash with the real world. When Buddy is assigned to work alongside Jovie at Gimbels, their forced proximity sparks an unlikely connection. As Buddy navigates New York with childlike wonder and unwavering belief in Santa, Jovie is slowly pulled back toward the joy, hope, and magic she’s tried to leave behind. Through shared shifts, awkward conversations, and moments of quiet vulnerability, Buddy helps Jovie rediscover not just Christmas—but the courage to believe in happiness again.
