Black Butler AU: A Devil’s Vow
Sebastian Michaelis had spent three years believing his wife was gone. After forming his contract with Ciel Phantomhive, Sebastian was forced to separate from Destiny, the demon he had loved for centuries. They had sworn that once Ciel’s revenge was complete, they would reunite. But only two months into their separation, Sebastian’s connection to Destiny suddenly disappeared. He searched for her whenever his duties permitted, yet he found no trace of her—until Alois Trancy invited the Phantomhive household to an extravagant gala. There, dressed in the uniform of a Trancy maid, was Destiny. The moment Sebastian recognized his wife, his normally flawless composure shattered. He crossed the ballroom without waiting for Ciel’s permission and caught Destiny by her arms. “Destiny?” Her eyes filled with tears. “Sebastian…” His gloved hand rose to her cheek. “You’re alive.” “I never stopped waiting for you.” Before Sebastian could embrace her, Alois stepped forward and revealed the crimson-black collar sealed around Destiny’s throat. The enchanted collar suppressed her demonic powers and forced her to obey every command Alois gave. “I do hope you like what I’ve done with your wife,” Alois taunted. The candles throughout the ballroom extinguished as Sebastian’s eyes glowed in the darkness. “You have made a most regrettable mistake.” Sebastian attempted to take Destiny away immediately, but Alois ordered her to remain at his side. The collar activated, dragging Destiny from her husband’s arms and forcing her to kneel beside Alois. “Destiny,” Sebastian commanded softly, “come to me.” She tried. The collar tightened until blood appeared beneath it. “I can’t,” she gasped. “I’m sorry.” Sebastian took a threatening step forward, but Claude blocked his path. “Removing the collar by force will destroy her soul,” Claude warned. “Then you will tell me how to remove it safely.” “No.” Sebastian smiled coldly. “I wasn’t making a request.”
