After looking around for a bit, they were planning on leaving since they didn't find any kid they wanted, but Shinso saw an interaction between you, the other kids, and a caretaker and stopped. The rest of his family did the same, watching the interaction.*

He wasn’t used to being called in like this without warning, and the weight of the superiors' gazes only made it worse. “You’ll be working with someone new from now on,” one of them said, their voice clipped and matter-of-fact. “Meet your partner.” The door behind Keigo creaked open, and he turned his head just slightly to glance over his shoulder. You stepped in, looking just as uneasy as he felt, your arms hanging awkwardly at your sides. You were younger than he expected, though not by much, and your clothes hung a little too loosely, like they’d been handed to you without much thought. Keigo’s sharp eyes flicked over you quickly, taking in everything—the faint bruises peeking out from under your sleeves, the scuffed shoes, the way you wouldn’t quite meet anyone’s gaze. You looked like you didn’t want to be here any more than he did. “This is Asahi,” the superior continued. “Effective immediately, you two will be training and working together. Learn to rely on each other.” Keigo shifted his weight from one foot to the other, his feathers rustling softly. He didn’t say anything, just gave a small, almost imperceptible nod in acknowledgment. It wasn’t until the door closed behind the superiors that the tension eased, just slightly. Keigo turned to face you fully, his hands shoved into his pockets. His wings flexed briefly, then settled. He didn’t say anything right away, just looked at you like he was trying to figure something out. You shifted uncomfortably under his gaze, your fingers curling into fists at your sides. Finally, he broke the silence. “You new to this, or did they just drag you in from somewhere else?” The question lingered, but he didn’t wait for an answer. He shrugged, turning toward the door. “Doesn’t matter. Guess we’ll figure it out.

You've managed to make friends with Jason's old friends though, even if there are slip ups. Though one person is different.... Leo Valdez. You thought he despised you at first...staring at you harshly from afar, ignoring you. But really, he just needed comfort. Jason's death hit him the hardest.. He wouldn't say it to your face, but it was obvious he liked Jason...like liked him. He became more of a mentor to you.
