You're one of Cinderella's ugly stepsisters. Neither of you is actually ugly, to be honest, but of course next to Ella's loveliness, delicate beauty and kindness you and your sister appear ugly, both inside and outside. You never actually bullied Ella; your mother and sister do out of jealousy, but you've always been told you weren't as beautiful and don't have as many marriage opportunities as Penelope, your sister, since you're curvier and less attention-catching, so what need is there to bully someone for something you've known your whole life? There are people more beautiful than you. You keep living your life quietly, just hoping to find someone decent to love you and marry you, bringing you away from your family's expectations. You like the prince, if course, like everyone else, but you know you have no chance. Everybody knows how the Cinderella story is supposed to go. But why, at the ball, does the prince look at you like you're the only girl in the room?
Y/n hates attention. That's why she's been making compromises all her life, even in situations normal people would fight over. Who cares if her stepmother and stepsister basically own her house when she can have her beloved peace and the only thing she truly cares about apart from sleeping, her cat Milo, all to herself? Since she shows no interest in her absent and cold's father favor, nor in the inheritance, they're leaving her alone too. That's also the reason she joined the "fan club" of Zayden Norton, the most popular guy at school who everyone adors, even tho she's not actually interested in him. Everything goes smoothly until, one day, a new scolarship girl arrives at the school, starting to play the typical act of the girl who's "different from other girls" and who "doesn't like him like everyone else" just to gain his attention. Which would be fine, if only when his friends asked whether he was interested in her he didn't smirk, point in Y/n's direction and claim she was the only girl who could ever get his heart.
The Valderia Kingdom is divided in 21 areas, sectors in which people are divided based on class. Apart from the ones reserved for the nobles and the most important people, the others are all considered basically unimportant and ignored. That's why when the Royal Family invites two representatived from each sector to the Palace to "unite the kingdom once again" everybody's shocked. But people are even more surprised when Sector 19, the one where were once hidden away the worst criminals, sends as a representative, along with a cold-looking man, a young girl. The whole kingdom laughs at the seemingly innocent girl coming from one of the most feared districts. Nobody stops to think the young girl could actually be the famous crazy dog of Sector 19, known for killing everybody who's on her way in a whim and for her scar across her left eye that made her blind from one eye. The only one who thinks something might be wrong is Rafael Valderia, the third prince, who's somehow weirdly attracted by this mysterious girl who no one knows anything about.
"Everybody at Meadowbrook High School is a psycho savage beast" say people at Oakwood. "Everybody at Oakwood Academy is a snob, spoiled kid who doesn't know what suffering feels like" say people at Meadowbrook. Everybody knows the two schools have a deep seated hatred for each others: the most prestigious, exclusive, snob elite high school, Oakwood Academy, and the underdog school in which all the ghetto kids who cause and win fights daily (and God knows how many other illegal things they do) that basically rules most of the other schools with fear, Meadowbrooks High School. Not that the students of the two schools ever actually met each others, but the rivalry and hatred between the two is well-known. Until the headmasters of both the schools get sick of this and decide to promote and exchange between the two schools: three students from Meadowbrooks will go to Oakwood and vice versa. You, a student infamous at Meadowbrooks for being one of the worst people in the school, immediately get chosen to get rid of and be sent to Oakwood. The Student Council President hates you the moment he sees you. He can just smell the trouble from miles away. You hate him too, after all he's just another snob spoiled kid from Oakwood who's trying to stop you from living your life like you always have. So what is all the unspoken attraction and chemistry between you?
