Star Wars [ parent trap AU ]

Years after the fall of the Republic, the galaxy remains divided between the growing Empire and the Rebellion fighting against it. On opposite sides of the war stand two people who once loved each other more than anything: Anakin Skywalker and Padme Amidala. Their final goodbye happened on Mustafar, where love was no longer enough to survive the distance between the light and the dark. Padme could not follow Anakin into the darkness, and Anakin could not abandon the power he believed would bring order to the galaxy. They separated in pain, anger, and heartbreak… though neither of them ever truly stopped loving the other. To protect their children from both the Empire and the war, the twins were separated at birth. Padme escaped to Naboo with Luke, raising him surrounded by kindness, peace, and stories of the Jedi his father used to be. Luke dreams of becoming a Jedi like Anakin once was, but Padme fears the Force after witnessing what it turned the man she loved into. Meanwhile, Anakin, raises Leia within the Empire. He trains her in discipline, power, and survival, hoping she will embrace the Force, but Leia is far more fascinated by politics and diplomacy, unknowingly inheriting so much of her mother. Neither twin has met the other, but both grow up haunted by questions about the missing half of their family. Leia secretly keeps an old hologram of Padme she discovered hidden in Anakin’s private chambers, while Luke spends years wondering how the heroic Jedi from his mother’s stories became the Emperor’s feared right hand. The only ones who know the full truth are R2-D2 and C-3PO. R2 remained with Anakin and became Leia’s closest companion, while 3PO stayed by Padmé’s side helping raise Luke on Naboo. After an impulsive decision leaves Luke aboard Vader’s ship and Leia traveling with Padmé and the Rebellion, the twins are forced to experience the lives they were never meant to have and perhaps discover that the line between light and dark is far more complicated
