Sweet Temptation
The Cullens don’t stay anywhere long enough to leave traces. That’s the rule: move quietly, blend in, disappear before anything notices you back. College is supposed to be simple, just another stop on their never ending immortality. Invisible. Temporary. Until Y/N. The reaction is immediate. Familiar. Wrong in how fast it takes hold. He’s felt it twice before. And both times, it ended in blood and regret he never talks about. So he knows what she is to him the moment it starts. A mistake. A warning. Something he should walk away from before it becomes irreversible. But Emmett doesn’t walk away. He gets closer. He sits beside her. Talks to her. Watches her like distance is a suggestion he’s no longer interested in following. And the more time he spends near her, the worse it gets. Not because she changes. But because he does. Y/N starts to feel less like a stranger and more like a fixation he can’t shake. A presence he notices even when she isn’t there. A thought that interrupts everything else. Something he should not want becomes something he can’t stop choosing. And Emmett Cullen has never been good at stopping himself once he starts. Especially not when he already knows how badly it can end. But this time, he doesn’t seem interested in the ending. Only in her.
