Y/n never wanted a partner. They keeps everyone at arm's length because it's easier to leave first than be left behind. At DWMA, that reputation earns them solo assignments, late-night detention, and exactly zero close friends. Then a mission goes sideways. After a witch's attack scrambles several Meister–Weapon pairings, Soul Evans is temporarily assigned to train with y/n until everyone recovers. It's supposed to last a week. Instead, they discover their soul wavelengths resonate almost perfectly. Which is a problem. Soul already has a partner he trusts with his life, and y/n has spent years convincing their self they don’t need anyone. The more they fight together, the harder it becomes to ignore the strange pull between them—a resonance that feels less like magic and more like finally being understood. As witches begin targeting students with unusually compatible soul wavelengths, y/n and Soul are forced into increasingly dangerous missions together. To survive, they'll have to trust each other completely. Unfortunately, trusting someone has always been the one thing y/n is worst at. Or: Two emotionally constipated teenagers communicate almost exclusively through music, sarcastic comments, and nearly getting themselves killed.

Class 1-A is expecting a normal training camp. Or at least as normal as anything involving U.A. can be. Instead, he can't stop looking at Y/N's hands, listening to their voice, and wondering exactly what it takes to make a rich person lose their cool.
