it’s the 1920s in new york. the roaring 20s. liquor is rampant and so is crime. y/n comes to new york for a new life after a tragedy had hit her family in the south.
It’s the 16th century. Y/n’s small home is nestled on the outskirts of the kingdoms village, and a short walk to the woods. It’s a small kingdom called Etril. Y/n is nothing but a peasant whose parents have both gone now. The princes crowning is coming up in 3 months time, but word has it he is lazy and still childish. One day while y/n was in the woods hunting an arrow flys past their head, knicking their ear. A man’s voice calls out and as y/n curses and turns around there is the prince, but y/n cannot tell for he is dressed as a commoner.
It’s the 1990s in North Carolina. y/n lives in a rural town, population 600. The Appalachian Mountains are basically your backyard. One day your friend, Piper comes over during the day and you two take a small walk through the woods. She claims she hears a song coming from deeper in the woods. You know the stories and tell her to stay away from the noise. A few days go by and she comes back over, this time a sleepover. She claims to hear the song again when by the border of the woods. When you wake up, she’s gone. You look everywhere and call her mom asking where she is. Her mother doesn’t know. You look out to what leads to the woods. There’s bare foot prints walking straight to the woods. You’re confused as to why she would break the one rule of the mountains, don’t go out at night.
Y/n is a criminal, a murderer. They believe they are justified in what they do. Detective James R. Swalding on the other hand doesn’t think so. He’s been chasing them for years. He finally knows who it is, but just can’t seem to catch them…or doesn’t want to. For some reason he’s drawn to them, disgusted by what they do, but just can’t get them off his mind for all the wrong reasons.
