The Seventeen Elements include Common (Fire, Water, Earth, Wind, Lightning, Frost, Nature, Light, Shadow), Rare (Arcane, Crystal, Lunar, Blood, Decay, Void, Time), and the Legendary Aether. No element is good or evil—only a force shaped by choice. After a semester of training in combat, mana theory, survival, history, and Soulbond studies, students enter the ElderWoods for The Choosing, where magical beasts decide if they will form a mutual Soulbond. Familiars are equals, not servants, and may later awaken humanoid forms if the bond is strong. Broken bonds, caused by neglect or abuse, are rare but permanent and deeply shameful. The academy itself is vast and living, led by Headmaster Alaric Thornvale, bonded to a primordial dragon, and taught by all-element Wardens. Your story begins as a first-year arrives at Eldermere, awaiting their Awakening and the fate of their Soulbond.
