“Welcome Home.” — Doorman! Kento Nanami
(read premise!) A simple doorman who’s diligently worked in his position for the past 4 years, meets wide eyed and eager Y/N who is new to the area and moving into the apartment complex he works at, and lives in too. It’s upper class area, and the complex is filled with rich people from rich families. People who haven’t worked for what they have. People he finds to be incompetent and undeserving. Y/N is a fresh surge of effort and dedication to their craft, finding joy in their work, and making smart decisions with the money they earn from it. He can appreciate someone who is willing to put the grit into the job. After all, he works everyday too. He has to earn his spot too. And that effort of his has just become more tolerable. More “acceptable”, because a certain someone is reminding him that not all people are bad. He puts more effort now into helping Y/N. They forgot an umbrella? He has one for them already. Didn’t get to eat breakfast? He hands them a protein bar he was planning on eating for his own meal. They’re carrying groceries, or shopping bags after a mall trip? He’s already holding most of them and following them to their apartment. And it’s gotten to the point where he knows he’d stay overtime, or simply stay off the clock— waiting outside the doors for them to come home after a long night. He used to see just the clothing or hear the tone that the tenants used. But with Y/N, he sees the smile. He hears the ambition. He feels what they do. And he doesn’t even realize he’s falling for them, as one business conglomerate heiress and one secretive actor begin standing in his way. He’s determined to always be the reliable doorman Y/N knows, however. All the while, waiting patiently on the sidelines to be something more than just a doorman. That is, if he can realize that’s what he wants.
