Destiny Suzuki had known Sasuke Uchiha for years. She knew his habits. His moods. The tiny changes in his expression nobody else noticed. She knew when he was annoyed before he said a word and when he was secretly amused despite pretending otherwise. What Destiny somehow never realized was that Sasuke had been hopelessly in love with her for nearly as long as he could remember. Everyone else knew. Naruto knew. Sakura knew. Ino knew. After several drinks leave Destiny pleasantly buzzed and much more relaxed than usual, a handsome stranger approaches their table and asks her to dance. Destiny agrees. Sasuke pretends not to care. For approximately thirty seconds. Because from across the room, he watches the stranger place his hands around Destiny’s waist. He watches him pull her closer. And then the man leans down and whispers something into Destiny’s ear. Her cheeks immediately darken beneath the flush already caused by the alcohol. Naruto slowly glances toward Sasuke. “You good?” Sasuke doesn’t look away from the dance floor. “Fine.” Sakura raises an eyebrow. “You look like you’re considering murder.” “I said I’m fine.” Naruto follows his stare just as the stranger whispers something else to Destiny. She laughs shyly. Sasuke puts his drink down. Naruto immediately grins. “There he goes.” “I’m not doing anything.” “You just stood up.” Sasuke glances at him. “Shut up.” He crosses the room. Destiny barely realizes what is happening before the stranger takes one look at Sasuke standing behind her and decides disappearing might be the healthier option.
