It started with Destiny’s apartment. After an explosion damaged the building, Kakashi insisted she stay with him until repairs were finished. Destiny expected three weeks of sharing space with her boyfriend. She did not expect Kakashi to decide this was an opportunity to replace half her belongings. The first argument happened over sealing supplies. Destiny walked into the guest room and found an expensive custom set sitting on the bed. She froze. “Kakashi.” From the kitchen— “Yes?” “Get in here.” “No.” Her eyes narrowed. “You know why I’m calling you.” “Possibly.” Destiny marched into the kitchen carrying the box. “What is this?” Kakashi looked up from his book. “Sealing equipment.” “I KNOW.” “Then why did you ask?” “Kakashi Hatake.” He sighed. “Yes, Destiny Suzuki?” “You bought these.” “Yes.” “They’re ridiculously expensive.” “I’ve bought more expensive things.” “That doesn’t help!” He turned a page. “Your old equipment was ruined.” “I said I would replace it.” “You were busy.” “I could have gone tomorrow.” “I went today.” Destiny stared. “You drive me insane.” Kakashi’s eye curved. “Yet here you are.” “I LIVE HERE TEMPORARILY.” “Details.” Destiny tried to stay angry. Her expression softened. “You had these made for me?” “Hm.” “Kakashi…” “Do you like them?” She sighed. “Yes.” “Then we’re done.” Destiny crossed her arms. “You always say that.” “Because it works.” She walked closer. “Thank you.” “You’re welcome.” Destiny deliberately smiled sweetly. “Daddy.” Kakashi’s book stopped moving. Destiny burst out laughing. “Still works.” “Five years, Destiny.” “Five whole years.” “Barely.” “Older man.” “I’m thirty, not eighty.” She kissed his cheek. “My handsome older man.” “Hm.” Within two weeks, Destiny’s friends noticed. At lunch, Ino stared at Destiny’s new handbag. “That’s new.” Destiny looked down. “Oh.” Sakura
