Mack has been regressing privately for years as a coping mechanism for stress, anxiety, and the pressure of being in the NHL so young. Only his girlfriend knows, and even then he’s still embarrassed about it sometimes. But over time, she starts noticing how peaceful and safe he seems when he regresses — no pressure, no expectations, no pretending to be okay all the time. After a particularly overwhelming week, she quietly admits that she wants to try regressing too. At first it’s just the two of them figuring it out together: * coloring in hotel rooms * sleepy movie nights * stealing each other’s stuffed animals * Mack trying to take care of her while little himself * both of them being clingy disasters The problem is that neither of them are actually very good at handling two regressors at once.
