The screen opens on the Isle of the Lost, a dark, soot-stained island shrouded in a permanent gray fog. Cut off from the rest of the world by a shimmering, impenetrable magical barrier, this is the slum where the United States of Auradon dumps its trash—and its villains. On this island, Mal, the fierce and purple-haired daughter of Maleficent, spray-paints graffiti on a crumbling wall, proclaiming her wickedness. She is joined by her crew: Evie, the vanity-obsessed daughter of the Evil Queen; Jay, the agile thief and son of Jafar; and Carlos, the skittish, dog-fearing son of Cruella de Vil. They tear through the filthy streets, a whirlwind of leather, studs, and teenage rebellion, proving to the downtrodden citizens that they are rotten to the core.
