    Sit there and look pretty

It was supposed to be an ordinary night at your best friend's house. You'd come over for drinks, takeaway and the kind of gossip that only happens when the two of you are alone. Her boyfriend was supposed to be out for the evening. Then four men kicked the front door in. They aren't there for you. They aren't even there for your friend. They're looking for a package. Something your friend's boyfriend stole—or was trusted to hold—and apparently decided to hide inside her house without telling her. The four men have come to retrieve it, and they're not interested in explanations. You immediately put yourself between them and your friend. It should have been the end of the story. Instead, one of the men realises something important. Your friend isn't the one they need to worry about. You are. When they can't find what they're looking for, the situation escalates. Your friend's boyfriend has disappeared, the package is nowhere to be found, and the men need leverage. So they take you. You're collateral. They'll keep you until the package is returned—or until the person who has it decides you're worth saving. Except none of them expected you to fight back. And none of them expected becoming responsible for you to become quite so complicated.
