During Parapet, she witnesses Xaden Riorson order a terrified cadet to either cross or die trying, showing no visible mercy when the cadet falls. To her, he isn't a heroic rebel leader—he's a sadistic man who hides cruelty behind the excuse of preparing people for survival. From that moment, she despises him.
