When Y/N transferred from Hogwarts to Beauxbatons after her fourth year, she thought leaving Harry Potter behind would be the hardest part. Turns out, hearing he’d found someone else was worse. Or… so she thought. One owl. One letter. One tiny sentence. “Harry and Ginny are together.” What begins as heartbreak quickly turns into an unhealthy amount of curiosity. She tells herself she’s only looking because she wants to know who Harry chose. She tells herself she’s only scrolling through Ginny’s old Quidditch photos because she’s comparing. She tells herself she’s only asking mutual friends about Ginny because… well, because she’s curious. Then she writes a song. A song that’s supposed to be about Harry’s new girlfriend. A song that’s supposed to help her move on. A song that somehow spends an awful lot of time talking about Ginny Weasley. Returning to Hogwarts for seventh year was meant to give her closure. Instead, it gives her a front-row seat to the girl she accidentally can’t stop thinking about. Maybe losing her first love wasn’t the end of her story. Maybe… It was the beginning of the right one. Inspiration: This story was inspired by ur new girlfriend by Bella Kay. The idea came from imagining Y/N writing a magical version of the song after learning Harry was dating Ginny.
