    Playing Our Roles—Modern! Naoya Zenin

(read premise!) Naoya Zenin is the heir to the Zenin Corporation, a multi-branch business conglomerate that obtains power through buying out buying out businesses too weak to stand on their own. He’s rude, arrogant, sexist, narcissistic, selfish, and just an asshole over all. The media already has highlighted this behavior, and the Zenin corporation could give less of a damn, except for the occasional slap on Naoya’s wrist for being too bold about an opinion. Never that his opinion was wrong, though. He’s used to being praised for everything: his intellect, his talent, his potential.. Yet he remembers when he was younger, having someone to share those praises with in school. Away from the clan that beated harsh principles into him, and abused people before him— telling him that it was necessary. It’s how he became such an asshole anyway. Not that it makes it right, though. Now, years later, Y/N and Naoya slip back into contact. It’s casual, fun, and exciting- despite the mutual distaste for the other person. To them both, it’s just a physical pleasure. Nothing more. But for Naoya, it’s the only time he’s able to slip away. It’s his choice, something for himself. It doesn’t have to be for business, or approved by a higher up. No, it’s all him. All his doing. And he deeply enjoys each encounter, even if it has to be secret, stolen ones in the late of night. He just would never say that to her. Can’t have this insufferable woman thinking she is becoming a highlight of his day.

“Welcome Home.” — Doorman! Kento Nanami

(read premise!) A simple doorman who’s diligently worked in his position for the past 4 years, meets wide eyed and eager Y/N who is new to the area and moving into the apartment complex he works at, and lives in too. It’s upper class area, and the complex is filled with rich people from rich families. People who haven’t worked for what they have. People he finds to be incompetent and undeserving. Y/N is a fresh surge of effort and dedication to their craft, finding joy in their work, and making smart decisions with the money they earn from it. He can appreciate someone who is willing to put the grit into the job. After all, he works everyday too. He has to earn his spot too. And that effort of his has just become more tolerable. More “acceptable”, because a certain someone is reminding him that not all people are bad. He puts more effort now into helping Y/N. They forgot an umbrella? He has one for them already. Didn’t get to eat breakfast? He hands them a protein bar he was planning on eating for his own meal. They’re carrying groceries, or shopping bags after a mall trip? He’s already holding most of them and following them to their apartment. And it’s gotten to the point where he knows he’d stay overtime, or simply stay off the clock— waiting outside the doors for them to come home after a long night. He used to see just the clothing or hear the tone that the tenants used. But with Y/N, he sees the smile. He hears the ambition. He feels what they do. And he doesn’t even realize he’s falling for them, as one business conglomerate heiress and one secretive actor begin standing in his way. He’s determined to always be the reliable doorman Y/N knows, however. All the while, waiting patiently on the sidelines to be something more than just a doorman. That is, if he can realize that’s what he wants.

    Relearning You — Nerd!Satoru Gojo

(read premise!) After flunking an important exam, Satoru is assigned to be Y/N’s tutor. He has two weeks to get them in top shape to retake their exam, and two weeks to rekindle with them after they haven’t spoken for 4 years. They had both been best friends in middle school. Both nerdy, awkward kids who were just too loud to be contained. But as Satoru became driven to be the best academically, Y/N became focused on their social life. And he felt like they left him behind. He became reserved, quiet, more awkward— and that confident boy Y/N once knew in middle school died down. He’s the class president now, at Tokyo University. He has the highest GPA— first in their class, on track to be the collegiate valedictorian. He’s even a teaching assistant as a mere freshman. But even with all of these achievements, he misses Y/N. He misses their friendship- and he holds it like a grudge. When he sees them, he’s a mess on the inside. However, he’ll keep himself composed on the outside— and keep playing the untouchable scholar he’s built himself to be, while despising the mask that Y/N has built for themselves. But maybe he’s just jealous.

Breaking the Rules - Outlaw!Satoru Gojo

(read premise! Inspired by Freeroam) Satoru Gojo is now the most wanted man in town, all because of an admittedly stupid “crime”. He apparently stole the sheriff’s horse. He claims it was his though, from the beginning. And now, he has a spiteful sheriff coming after him if he shows up in town, as the bounty grows higher each day— over a horse. After the initial “theft” of the horse, he fled to the outskirts of town where the local tavern of those parts resided. There, he meets Y/N. The owner of the tavern is their father. His usual charisma and charms don’t work on them. They don’t react the way everyone else in town does to his witty remarks, or signature smile. They just roll their eyes, smirk, and then give the same behavior back. After he leaves, he’s still intrigued by them. Still entertained. So, he begins sending letters. They start casual, filled with banter to keep both of them entertained. Yet, slowly they become more personal— and he knows he can’t go backwards, but he struggles a lot with the circumstances. Satoru now isn’t only running from a town’s sheriff who despises his guts, but also from his own feelings out of fear of becoming too attached to certain person who works at a tavern. He’ll tell himself it’s just for his safety, but he knows deep down it’s for theirs too.
