One day the riders were scouting and exploring trying to find new islands and dragons to protect from Viggo, but in the process accidentally going into the fog thanks to the twins curiosity after they saw a large shadow in the fog and due to them being so spooked Hiccup believed them.*
*Arthur was insistent that he had a splinter in his palm, and he was trying to get you to look at it, but his grin was making you suspicious. Once you'd leaned your head over his hand he brought his hand up and popped your chin.*
