The one he wants M.R L.L

Mattheo Riddle has never had to work very hard to get someone’s attention. His confidence, sharp tongue, and effortless charm usually leave people flustered—especially when he decides to flirt just to amuse himself. Leah, however, is different. She doesn’t blush at his smirks, stumble over her words, or giggle at his teasing. If anything, she gives it right back. When Mattheo casually leans against a doorway and says, “You look pretty today.” Leah barely glances up from her book. “I usually do.” When he tells her, “You know, you’d smile more if you stopped pretending you don’t like me.” She replies, “I’d probably smile more if you stopped assuming everyone does.” Every attempted flirtation ends with Mattheo being outplayed—not because Leah is trying to embarrass him, but because she genuinely isn’t impressed by his reputation or his confidence. She sees through his carefully crafted persona almost immediately. She recognizes that most of his flirting is a game, a habit, a way to stay in control of conversations. Instead of feeding his ego, she treats him like anyone else. That should annoy him. Instead… It fascinates him. For the first time, Mattheo finds himself thinking about someone even when she isn’t around. He catches himself looking for her in the Great Hall, noticing when she isn’t at breakfast, and wondering where Binky has wandered because the rabbit usually means Leah isn’t far behind.
