Mike is Will used to be best friends. They spent every moment running through hidden corridors of William’s castle and sneaking into the knight’s quarters to have hushed sleepovers. But, when then were 16, they got in a very heated and serious argument, and their friendship fell apart. Years later, when Will and Mike are both 20, Will’s stepfather (the king) receives a letter threatening to assasinate Will. In order to protect Will, the king assigns Mike to be the prince’s personal guard.
Mike and Will have been best friends for years. Will and Mike have also had gigantic crushes on each other for years. So when Will gets bit by a radioactive spider and becomes NYC’s one and only spider man, you can see why it’s hard to even look civilian Mike in the eyes now that he’s green goblin’s latest target. Will, as his spider-man self, is left walking Mike home from an attack to avoid any other threats.
Mike and Will are at a party with some of Will’s collage friends when Mike blows up at Will’s boyfriend. Mike storms out and Will follows him into the pouring rain, demanding answers.
Mike’s cousin Richie is staying with Mike’s family for a week and one night, will comes over for a sleepover. Richie, very shamelessly, flirts with Will. Aged up AU- they’re juniors in high school.
