    Growing up in the 1960s in a small southern town was normal for you, and most of the southern states; you’re from a small family, living in a regular if not smaller farmhouse, you go to a regular highschool with popular kids, nerds and geeks, jocks and the weirdos, you fall into the nerd and geeks category while also sometimes falling towards the weirdos; you go to the cinema on weekends, days spent at your house reading a book or sketching and painting, getting terrorized at school by the mean kids while having a specific friendship with your art teacher who understood you and your drawling and paintings, playing card games with your younger brother and grandfather while your grandmother cooks or bakes, riding your bike all around town, sneaking out your window at night to sit underneath your windowsill to sneakily smoke a cigarette, going shopping with your grandmother, talking with your grandfather on the porch as you work on your garden, reading comic books with your brother, cuddling with your cat, and visiting your mothers grave while actively ignoring your fathers. Dealing with horrible mental health issues, childhood trauma and overall life issues; all while being unaware you have the absolute attention of two boys, ones who wouldn’t be considered losers or geeks but not jocks either, and they seem to have their sights set on you. But, is it all good… or is it a little twisted?

    ls, Virginia alongside your two older siblings, your parents and aunt; being apart of the Gilbert founding family of the town, your parents having quite the popularity around town, being involved in the politics, your father was a Doctor and your mother was a stay-at-home housewife, you attended founders day parties, charity events, and other events and gatherings with the board in Mystic Falls for the Lockwood family (the mayors family), you’ve become quite the social butterfly from your happy childhood, getting anything you wanted and never being told ‘no’. Not long after your older sisters seventeenth birthday, you and your parents go to pick her up from a bonfire party, and on the way back, you all crash into water under the bridge… somehow you wake up in hospital, you have been asleep for a few weeks, you’re told your parents died in the crash, your older sister is fine but was also in the hospital until she healed, you’re now being taken in by your aunt who is now the guardian of you and your two siblings; you now have to grieve while trying to go back to how everything was, which could never fully happen, you still live in your parents house, your aunt moving into your parents bedroom, trying to stay strong for your siblings while falling down a rabbit hole, using un-healthy coping mechanisms that slowly kills you, having to return to school after the summer ends and face everyone. Meeting a boy who takes an interest in your sister, but also quite kind to you, seemingly having a soft spot for you and actually seeing you.
