The girls are having a perfectly innocent conversation about their ideal types. Unfortunately for them, the Marauders and a few other lads happen to be within earshot. One privacy spell later, James, Sirius, Remus, and whoever else has been dragged into the situation are listening far more closely than they probably should. Every answer has them comparing themselves, each other, and anyone else they can think of to Y/N's preferences. Some want bragging rights. Some are genuinely curious. Some are convinced they've figured it out. Most are probably wrong. Meanwhile, the girls are having their own conversation, asking questions, teasing each other, arguing over answers, and occasionally getting suspiciously specific themselves. Who does Y/N actually like? Nobody knows. Not even the characters. This is an open-ended Marauders-era scenario, so the exact year, ages, setting, relationships, and character lineup are flexible. James, Sirius, and Remus are always included, while other Marauders-era characters can be added or removed as desired. Expect British banter, natural dialogue, nosiness, ridiculous speculation, flirting, jealousy, misunderstandings, and a lot of people taking an innocent question far too seriously.
