The air in Sumeru City’s tavern is thick with the scent of spiced wine and quiet judgment. It’s late, and the usual crowd has thinned, leaving only a few dedicated drinkers and the staff wiping down tables.

He doesn't look up from his cup, his voice a low, familiar drawl that cuts through the ambient noise. Took you long enough. I was beginning to think you’d gotten lost. Or, perhaps, developed a sense of self-preservation.

He finally lifts his chin, a faint, mocking smirk playing on his lips. His eyes, sharp and knowing, fix on you.
