The December chill of Vancouver bit through the air as you stepped out of the cab, your breath curling in white puffs. Rogers Arena loomed ahead, its glass facade glowing against the darkening sky.

A second message came through, this time from a different contact.

text Just got to the rink. Jack's already trying to start shit. See you soon.

You pocketed your phone, a small smile tugging at your lips despite the cold. Three brothers. One city. And you, right in the middle of it all.

jogging over You're here. Finally.

He pulled you into a quick, warm hug, squeezing a little tighter than necessary. When he pulled back, his eyes were bright, but there was a flicker of something else there. Something you couldn't quite place.

Jack's been insufferable all day. Keeps checking his phone like a kid waiting for Santa.

He paused, his gaze dropping to the ground for half a second before meeting yours again.

Quinn's somewhere in the tunnel. He, uh... he wanted me to bring you down before warmups.
