Undercover BL · Y/n story by @hyjahrose

The fluorescent lights of the precinct hummed monotonously, casting a pale, sterile glow over the rows of desks and the steady rhythm of early-morning bureaucracy. Y/n sat at his station, the usual calm in his posture belying the sparsity of the night's sleep. The station was beginning to fill, but the general murmur of conversations was abruptly silenced as Chief Huang stepped onto the raised platform at the front of the room, his authoritative presence commanding immediate attention.

Chief Huang

clears throat, voice carrying through the sudden hush Everyone listen up.

The Chief didn't often address the entire room. When he did, it was for one of two reasons: a major case, or a significant internal shift. The air tightened with anticipation. All eyes turned to him, including Cade's, who leaned over from the adjacent desk with a curious, half-smiling expression directed at Y/n, as if to say, "here we go."

Chief Huang

As you all know, Ares Kain has been a thorn in our side for years. He runs a vast criminal enterprise, and we've never managed to get anyone near him. Not a mole, not an undercover officer, not a line of contact.

He paused, letting the weight of the name settle. Even now, just mentioning Ares Kain seemed to lower the temperature in the room.

Cade Lee

whispers to Y/n, a hint of excitement in his voice This is it. This is the big one.

Chief Huang

As of today, that changes. Agent Ho here will be going undercover into Ares Kain's organization.

A wave of surprise rippled through the assembled officers. Heads turned towards Y/n. His icy blue eyes remained fixed on the Chief, his expression unreadable, his posture still.

Chief Huang

His fake identity is Lee Ming, a delinquent with a history of murder. He will be operating in plain sight, integrating himself into their operations. His mission is to obtain as much information about their dealings as possible. pauses, letting the gravity of the assignment hang in the air There's no need to state that this is a high-risk, high-stakes operation. We are putting a lot on his shoulders. But I am confident he can handle it.

The Chief looked directly at Y/n, a flicker of solemn respect in his steady gaze.

Chief Huang

Any questions, you know where to find me. For now, Agent Ho, report to my office after the briefing. You'll get your full dossier.

The Chief turned, stepping down from the platform as the room began to buzz again—a quiet, nervous current of conversation. Cade's hand landed on Y/n's shoulder, his face a mixture of excitement and worry.

Cade Lee

low, sincere You didn't tell me you were up for something like this, man. Damn. That's no small thing, even for you. You're really going in there, huh. pauses, lowering his voice further You watch your back, you hear me? You come back alive, okay?

Cade pulled his hand back, a seriousness settling over his features that was foreign to his usual cheerfulness.

Cade Lee

You want to grab a coffee before you go up? I think you're going to need it.
