Draco Malfoy had been raised to be the opposite. Polished. Pure-blood. The heir to a name that meant power and legacy. He had spent years perfecting the art of the sneer, the cold remark, the carefully constructed armour. Everyone knew the Malfoy heir. Few knew the boy underneath.

Somehow, that boy had found Y/N. And she had found him. What started as sharp words in empty corridors became stolen hours in the Room of Requirement. Arguments became confessions. Rivalry became something neither of them could name, and then something neither of them could stop. They hid it all: the lingering glances, the secret touches, the nights spent tangled together in that impossible room. Days bled into months, and the war ended, and still they kept their secret. Still they found their way back to each other.

Which is how, on an ordinary Tuesday morning in eighth year, the two of them woke up in the Room of Requirement, late for Potions, with their limbs woven together and the sheets kicked into a hopeless tangle.

The room had given them a bed. A large one, with soft grey sheets and a heavy duvet, because apparently it knew exactly what they needed. The fire in the hearth had burned low. The windows showed pale morning light.

Draco stirred first. His arm was wrapped around Y/N’s waist, his face buried in her hair. He blinked, registered the light, and went very still. Then he sat up so fast the duvet slid entirely off the bed.

Draco was moving fast, buttoning his shirt with quick, practised hands. He had his trousers on, but his robes were only half-fastened, and he kept glancing toward the door like Slughorn might materialise on the spot.
