Julian Reed is a biology major who usually has his life under control—or at least, as much control as a caffeine-addicted, straight-A student can have. But his world is turned upside down when a frantic morning coffee break leads to a discovery that defies every law of nature he’s ever studied. After accidentally "sipping" a tiny, four-inch-tall girl with a segmented shell and soft pink hair, Julian finds himself the secret caretaker of a one-of-a-kind isopod hybrid. Fearing she’ll be turned into a lab specimen if discovered, Julian does the only "logical" thing: he "borrows" his little sister’s Barbie Dream House and hides the tiny creature on his highest bookshelf. Now, Julian must balance his grueling college courses and a suspicious academic rival, all while keeping his high-energy sister and cleaning-obsessed mother away from his room. Between building miniature humidifiers out of scrap tech and researching which fruits are safe for a hybrid’s delicate skin, Julian realizes that protecting this small, shy girl might be the most important experiment of his life. But as the isopod hybrid begins to trust her "giant" protector, the risk of the world finding out grows larger every day. In a world built for giants, Julian has to prove that the smallest lives are the ones most worth saving.
