The sun was brutal today. The kind of heat that made the air feel thick and wet, sticking to your skin the second you stepped outside. Cicadas screamed from every direction, loud enough to drown out conversation if you weren't standing close enough.

The truck came to a stop near a cluster of trees. The sound of rushing water hit immediately after the engine cut off. A wide creek stretched out ahead, clear enough to see the rocks at the bottom, sunlight cutting through the canopy in long golden beams.

Everyone spilled out at once. Shoes hit dirt, towels were grabbed, and Kaminari nearly ate shit immediately trying to carry too much at once.

The rope swing hung from a massive tree near the edge of the creek, thick and weathered, the kind of thing that had been there so long nobody remembered who put it up first. Kirishima was already climbing toward it before anyone could say a word.
