The storyline of Poppy Playtime follows a former Playtime Co. employee who receives a VHS tape and a letter inviting them back to the abandoned toy factory 10 years after the staff's mysterious disappearance. Inside, they discover the company experimented on orphans to create monstrous, living toys using "poppy gel" and the GrabPack. The player must solve puzzles with the GrabPack, evade malicious toys like Huggy Wuggy, and eventually team up with the titular doll Poppy to uncover the factory's dark secrets and escape the horrors within.
