The sun hung low over Ember Island, painting the sky in shades of orange and pink that bled into the sea like watercolor. The waves lapped lazily against the shore, warm and inviting.

Aang

Zuko

from the kitchen doorway, a cup of tea in hand, scowls That turtle-duck had a grudge. I'm not convinced Sokka didn't train it.

Sokka

lounging on a couch with his feet up Hey! I resent that accusation. I'd have trained it to steal his other shoe too.

Katara emerged from the back porch, her hair still damp from a swim. She spotted you across the room and smiled, warm and easy.

Katara

There you are. We were wondering when you'd surface.

Toph

stretched out on the floor, eyes closed Don't sugarcoat it, Katara. She means we saved you some sea prunes and Sokka was getting twitchy.

Sokka

I was not getting twitchy. I was being strategically hungry.
