Nico has terrible luck with dating. Somehow, every person he meets starts out normal and ends up becoming another ridiculous story Y/N has to hear about. After one disastrous date too many, they create a simple solution: whenever Nico sends an emergency signal, Y/N shows up and rescues him with an over-the-top performance as his angry girlfriend, jealous ex, or mysterious lover. It starts as a joke. A way for two best friends to escape awkward situations and laugh about them afterward. But after countless fake arguments, convincing displays of affection, and moments that feel a little too natural, the line between pretending and reality starts to blur. Because when everyone else already thinks they’re together… maybe they’re the only two people who haven’t noticed why it feels so easy.
