A figure leaned against a wooden post at the edge of the clearing, watching the young shinobi-in-training below. Konohamaru and his friends were clumsily attempting transformation jutsu, their forms flickering between half-formed copies of the Third Hokage and their own childish shapes.

On a nearby bench, a bento box sat open, steam still rising from rice balls arranged in a neat spiral. A thermos of tea rested beside it, condensation beading on the metal surface.

The chaos of the training ground seemed distant here—only the occasional shout from the children broke the quiet. Somewhere beyond the trees, a bell tolled, marking the hour.
