Y/n was assigned to a mission to retrieve a missing Naruto. They were never very close growing up. They didn’t really get along…y/n thought he was annoying. She was an Uchiha like Sasuke so her and Sasuke were closer, may have been a reason Naruto wasn’t the biggest fan of her. Y/n was close to Shikamaru. And Sasuke. (Sasuke still in the picture AU) Naruto had left the village 3 years ago after jiriaya was killed. After Naruto ended pain he vanished. Three years and no one was able to find him. Until they assigned a certain someone to the mission, y/n. When she found him he was a mess. A drunk, a smoker, not his regular self. Which pissed y/n off. The bright boy that annoyed her so much growing up was an empty shell. It was her job to bring him back. Not knowing the relationship would bloom into something more. They were 19 now.
