up until now, the greasers and the socs were the two groups that ruled the most popular neighborhoods in tulsa, oklahoma. in the cool autumn 1965, a new group of african american teenagers began to form in the community, called the civils. like the name suggests, they try their best to follow the rules and stay cordial with everyone else, but sometimes conflict arises. they also dressed in what's described as 'hippie' fashion, and embraced their curly hair and afros. in that group, is y/n, the girl that catches dallas winston's eye. problem is, dallas didn't particularly like many girls, especially ones that looked like her. he flirted with a soc every now and then, but this was completely new to him. dallas tries to combat this feeling by bullying y/n, but it only makes his feelings for her more obvious. will society's expectations get in the way of their love?
