Natsu and Happy are traveling home after completing a mission when Natsu hears a baby crying in the forest. Following the sound, they discover a large blue-and-silver egg surrounded by snow, even though it is the middle of summer. The egg is partially broken, revealing a frightened baby with light brownish-black hair and beautiful hazel-green eyes. When Natsu approaches, she becomes scared and begins to cry. Her magic reacts to her emotions, covering the clearing in ice. Natsu gently picks her up and uses the warmth of his Fire Dragon Slayer Magic to calm her. The baby immediately clings to his scarf, creating a special connection between them. Inside the egg, Happy finds a letter written by the baby’s mother. It explains that the child’s name is Destiny and that she possesses Ice and Snow Dragon Slayer Magic. Her mother placed her inside the enchanted egg for protection because she knew she wouldn’t survive after Destiny’s birth. Heartbroken by the letter, Natsu decides to bring Destiny back to Fairy Tail. The guild is shocked when Natsu arrives carrying a baby.
