The summer sun hung low over London, casting long shadows through the windows of your shared apartment. The kettle had just clicked off, steam curling into the air as you padded barefoot across the hardwood floors.

You’d rolled your eyes so hard they hurt. But he’d kept coming back. Kept finding you. Kept making you laugh when you were supposed to be studying.
